was a busy time for the Suffolk Supporting People team. Below

Getting
people to share ideas and expertise was viewed as a key objective,
and senior officers from the Suffolk Supporting People team led
workshops across many themes:

Fairer Charge:
Run
twice, this workshop was facilitated jointly by Suffolk and Salford,
and featured the two different policies developed by the teams.

Visits
This workshop was
part of the East Midlands Good Practice Event. It looked
specifically at Suffolk's Validation Visit toolkit, but also provided
a forum for sharing ideas.

Working
in Partnership:
Community
Safety Unit (CSU) & Suffolk Supporting People
This
event was hosted at the Ipswich Suffolk County Council office, with
the aim of raising the profile of the CSU and Supporting People
programme within the Council.
Good
Practice CD-ROM:
We
developed a CD-ROM to share our practices with other authorities.
It included sections on:
Getting
the Message Across
Communication is vital to success!
This section included Suffolk
Supporting People’s communication strategy, as well as examples
of leaflets, contact cards and an animated website demonstration.
Partnership
Working
True partnership working is about realising opportunities, valuing feedback
and listening to views.
The team
structure and how Suffolk Supporting People work in partnership
with other organisations and groups.
Making
a Difference
Be
proactive in taking advantage of new and emerging opportunities.
Our innovative
fairer charging policy and practices for accreditation, validation
visits and service reviews.
Mentoring:
We received
over 100 requests for information, regarding documents and practices
developed by the team. The Luton Supporting People team participated
in an one2one mentoring session, on Suffolk's service review process.
