Help With Your Support Costs
Directory of Services
If you are in receipt of housing benefit you could get your housing-related
support costs paid for you by Supporting People – if you are
unsure as to whether this is happening, your support provider should
be able to let you know.
If you are not in receipt
of housing benefit, and your savings are less than £22,000,
you can apply for a fairer charge assessment. This could mean that
Supporting People pay for some or all of your housing related support
costs. For more information on Fairer Charging, please click on
the link at the top of the page.
The Suffolk Supporting
People team has been carrying out fairer charge assessments since
April 2003. The majority of these applications have been successful
in getting some, or all, of their support costs paid for by Supporting
People.
If you are a service user
who would like to apply for a fairer charge assessment, you will
first need to complete a financial assessment form and return it
to us at the Supporting People office. Your form will then be passed
to the financial assessment team, who will process your application.
If you are a service user,
or support provider, who would like further information on fairer
charging, please contact Anne Duncan on 01473 581832 or by email at: supporting.people.admin@socserv.suffolkcc.gov.uk
If
you would like a paper copy of our Financial Declaration form and
a Fairer Charge leaflet, please use our contact us form to request one
and it will be sent to you within a week. Alternatively you can
download these by clicking on the links below. Please note if your savings are in excess of £22,000 you will not be eligible
for a fairer charge assessment.
